I have been telling photographers to stick by the rules of composition and exposure to make successful photographs. The next valuable lesson for all photographers is to learn to experiment with equipment and photography, and I mean really experiment!
Disregard what others say about what you are interested in creating. Go beyond the obvious and begin to learn and become more aware of what you are capable of doing, as well as what the equipment is capable of doing.
